Why Run?

Running is physical strength and mental health. Running is even more rewarding when the surroundings are this beautiful. Yesterday, Yvonne Siew of justrunlah.com reached out to ask how running has changed me. My short response followed: “Running makes me a better wife and mother. To me, running is even more meditative than yoga, and while it is great for developing my physical health, the biggest bonus is probably the mental wellbeing I feel since picking up running again. This morning we were back at the visa office for a second attempt at handing in our applications. Unlike yesterday, we were met by smiling faces and a very well oiled bureaucratic machine. We were in and out, successfully, in minutes. The major task of today completed before breakfast, what a great way to start a sunny Tuesday!

Angels - Untangling the Red Tape

This morning’s frustrations turned into a long day in front of the computer. For a while I was almost worried that we wouldn’t get a hold of the proper documents at all. And then, I met some angels, reps from three different factories that we are visiting. They were able to process our paperwork with lightning speed; changing and retyping letters (and getting them stamped by busy bosses) to meet all of the visa office’s demands. All the communication meant we took the step from mail to Skype, and ended up chatting and seeing the persons behind our business facades as well....
